Our Last Midwife Appointment

Well, today we had our last postpartum trip to the midwives with Natalie, and it feels, almost sad. This group of professionals were with us through the whole journey providing us with guidance, information, and emotional support to always keep us feeling at ease and on top of things. What a profession they have. In their eyes, maybe Michelle and I are just another set of new parents and Natalie is just another new baby delivered that month, but in our eyes, these midwives will always be part of the amazing memories associated with our first pregnancy, our first labour and delivery, and our first child. Today, when we hugged our primary midwife goodbye, it was not without the feeling that I was saying goodbye to a member of my family or a close friend. Until baby two I suppose, but that’s a thought for another day.
